Tuesday morning, Goshen College students set out on a 5-day canoe trip with the goal of experiencing the local watershed up close and personal.
They started in Albion, Noble County, and will finish Saturday afternoon in Lake Michigan...
Students are stopping to perform water tests--twice a day. The second stop Wednesday was at IUSB, where the students will spent the night camping nearby.
“What we're teaching our students here… there are no isolated actions,” Professor Tom Hatzel says. “Everything you do can have consequences or an effect on someone else, and that effect usually goes downstream.”
The trip is part of Goshen College's first sustainability semester in residence program.
