SOUTH BEND, Ind.--- It is Good Friday and some in South Bend marked the most solemn day on the Christian calendar with an annual walk across the city's southeast side.
It's the Good Friday Stations of the Cross Walk at Broadway Christian Parish United Methodist Church in South Bend.
The walk has been held for more than 20 years, and it commemorates the walk of Jesus Christ carrying the cross to his crucifixion.
Folks gathered at the corner of Broadway and Carroll to start, and along the way they stopped at 14 different stations.
Each of those station represented places of challenge, sadness or hope.
The walk is about 2.3 miles long.
Today's turnout was smaller than usual, and event organizers believed it's because several students and teachers had to go to school and work for snow make-up days.
