News 16 checked local stations on Friday and prices are hovering just under $3.60 a gallon.

On Thursday, gas was roughly $3.38 in other parts of the country, but in Michiana it was already about $3.45 and up another 15 cents on Friday.

According to Triple A, crude oil prices Friday saw their largest one-day jump since 2009.
