Dozens of women danced the night away to support the family of a 7-year-old Elkhart girl, who was killed during a home invasion.

A room full of women dressed in pink and purple shimmied and shook at Elkhart's Inferno Saturday night in honor of a little girl who loved to do the same.

“To come out and do an event like this with dancing and music she would have loved it,” said Kimi Jackson Kristyana’s mother.

It's one of the few bright spots in the Jackson family's life after their bright 7-year-old daughter Kristyana was shot and killed during a home invasion in August.

“Everyday it's just the little things, going to the grocery store, her asking to push the cart,” says Kimi. “She loved to pass out candy.”

The Jacksons’ new normal includes attending a lot of fundraisers like this hip hop and zumba party. It helps keep their minds off the tragic loss of their daughter and gets the community thinking about who is responsible.

“How do you sleep at night?” says John Jackson Kristyana’s dad. “How do you close your eyes and not see my baby's face? How do you do that? And if you have kids, how would you feel? How could you do this to somebody else’s child?”

A $6,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in this case.
