Fruit season proves to be sweet in Michigan this year

Good news for farmers and for families looking to pick some fruit this weekend.

At Stover's Farm Market in Berrien Springs it's been very busy.

In fact the staff can't keep fruit that's already been picked and ready to buy stocked near the register.

So if customers want strawberries, cherries and raspberries, they will have pick it themselves.

The season has been sweet compared to last year when the fruit bloomed too early with an unusually warm March and a drought throughout the summer.

June Stover says, “Last year the losses were tremendous, catastrophic actually, so we are very happy about this year.”

The Fourth of the July is usually one of the busiest days for U-Pic.

Stover's is always open except for Sundays.
