Another local musician hit the stage to show off his vocal talents on Friday, and he brought some country flair to this week’s installment of “Fridays by the Fountain.”
This is the thirteenth consecutive year for the free concert series which is held right outside the Morris Performing Arts Center in downtown South Bend.
Jared Knox, a South Haven native and winner of Real Country 99.9’s Budweiser Country Star contest, was the headliner. He entertained a big crowd of folks both young and old as they enjoyed the festivities at the Jon R. Hunt Plaza during their lunch hour.
“You have all kinds of people who show up to this,” said Dennis Andres, executive director of the Morris Performing Arts Center. “We average around 750-1,000 people who will come and go through that hour and a half. But if you look around, there's all kinds here - from the folks who are retired to newborn babies.”
“Fridays by the Fountain runs through September 6.
