South Bend, Ind. Classes begin next week at Notre Dame, and that means Friday was all about moving-in for students, and their parents.
Dorms opened at 9 a.m. for families to work on carting everything in. Most say it was a smooth process. Move in experts were on hand to direct traffic and help new students find all the right stops.
One of the few upperclassmen already on campus says the sights and sounds make you excited to just be back at Notre Dame.
"Move in is never really that fun, because it’s kind of a pain and it takes long, but when you have a moment to stop and look around, you just can’t help but feel so happy," says Sophomore Sam Roden.
“The past few days, the staff has been living here getting ready for this event and it's been really quiet, so to have 80 new guys moving in Friday, this is where the live of keel and the life of Notre Dame starts,” says move in expert Michael Comuniello.
Most of the students moving in Friday were freshmen. Halls open for upperclassmen on Sunday.
