A fearless feline that survived after being thrown from an Elkhart County overpass is ready for a new home. The cat spent two days dangling above Main Street last month before being brought to safety.
The Humane Society of Elkhart County says someone tossed the animal, but, amazingly, he managed to land on part of the overpass signage.
The cat was suffering from hunger, dehydration and leg injuries when Elkhart Street Department workers and Humane Society Officers rescued him.
Fittingly, the cat was named Freeway, and he's finally recovered from his injuries. That means he's now available to be adopted by a loving family.
The Humane Society is currently accepting applications. They say Freeway is a great animal who's playful, friendly and enjoys petting time.
