Taking care of your teeth is an important part to leading an overall healthy lifestyle.

But, as we all know, dental care can be expensive.

That's why dentists all across the country are on a mission - to help spread smiles in their communities.

They're taking part in Dentistry from the Heart.

Dentistry from the Heart is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free dental care to those in need.

An Elkhart dentist, Dr. Douglas Snyder, is participating in the program.

Next Saturday, May 17, his office will hold a free dental clinic.

"The community has been so good to us over the last 20 years or so, so it's my turn to give back to the community. There's a lot of need out there for dental work and a lot of people who can't afford it," said Dr. Snyder.

Dr. Snyder's clinic is for those over 18. He will do a variety of services like fillings and cleanings.

Patients are encouraged to arrive early. The clinic will be held at 427 Waterfall Drive, in Elkhart. It runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Breakfast items and snacks will be provided throughout the day.
