Four-year-old girl found safely after going for a walk on her own

Starke County, Ind. One Starke County mother returned home Thursday morning to find the garage door open, and her four-year-old daughter missing.

Luckily Starke and Marshall County Police soon received a call about a 4-year-old girl wandering alone.

The girl, who lives near County Line by road 14B, had walked more than a mile south when a couple saw her outside their house and called the police.

The temperature was only in the high 20’s, but the little girl had thought put on her coat and shoes before leaving. NewsCenter 16 spoke to her mother and she's home safe now.

The girl had managed to sneak out of her bed in the less than 30 minutes between when her father had left for work and her mother returned from a taking care of a relative.
