SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A man who has dedicated nine decades of life to helping others celebrated a big birthday Thursday.
Les Fox turned 90 and, appropriately, he had his birthday party at Real Services.
It's appropriate because Les is the man who started the organization.
Fox is a former Studebaker employee who became an advocate for the unemployed and under-served after the plant closed.
When we asked about his great legacy in South Bend, this is what he said: “South Bend is big enough to be small, and small enough to be big, that's what I always say. You can leave a mark if you work at it.”
As a 90th birthday present, South Bend Deputy Mayor Mark Neal and the county auditor presented Les with the keys to the city and county.
