The founder of Braun Corporation, Ralph Braun passed away Friday afternoon at the age of 72.
Braun Corporation helped provide people with disabilities an easier way to get around.
According to the WKVI, Braun was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy as a child, a disease that left him unable to walk by the time he was 15 years-old.
Despite being confined to a wheelchair, Braun transcended his own disability in a business endeavor that would help others just like him. He invented the world’s first motorized scooter, and he and his company went on to produce an entire line of commercial mobility products.
The Braun Corporation employs 650 people in Pulaski Co. and 790 across the country.
