Fire crews spent part of Monday evening battling a field fire in this dry weather.
It happened in the 10000 block of Brems Lane in Penn Township in a wooded area sometime after seven Monday night.
The fire started in a grassy area in some woods. Crews were able to get the fire under control within the hour. After finding some fireworks in the debris along with interviewing some witnesses they believe fireworks may have sparked the fire.
Even though it's not as hot, fires can spark easily, but this weather is helping out the firefighters during their long days.
"We’re grateful it was not last week when we had an excess of 100 degrees,” said Penn Township Battalion Chief Dave Yoder. “It's 90 degrees out here now, humidity is a little bit low, hopefully we won't have a heat related injury."
While they were fighting the fire crews took turns resting and drinking a lot of bottle of water. It's been a busy day for them, they've been fighting fires since ten Monday morning.
