A family already struggling with storm damage to their house has lost everything in a fire to their barn.

The blaze broke out Saturday night in the 64000 block of 80th Avenue in Keeler Township.

That is in Van Buren County.

Flames had already engulfed the barn by the time firefighters arrived on the scene.

The family of eight made it out safely. They had been living in the barn because their home was damaged during a storm last year.

Not only was the barn and everything inside it destroyed, but the fire also spread to the house and caused some damage there.
Fire investigators suspect an electrical issue caused the fire.

The family --including six children ranging in age from six to 17-- is being assisted by the Red Cross.
