GRABILL, Ind. (AP) Firefighters worked several hours in subzero temperatures battling a large blaze that destroyed much of a northeastern Indiana sawmill.

The fire was reported about 1 a.m. Wednesday at the Cedar Creek Sawmill near the Allen County town of Grabill.

St. Joseph Township fire chief David Ringer says wood pallets stacked 25 feet high inside on the buildings fueled the fire that was still smoldering at midday.

Ringer tells WANE-TV (http://bit.ly/1hMeJq1 ) that firefighters had troubles with frozen valves and many trucks had to shuttle water to the site northeast of Fort Wayne. A bus was brought to the scene so that firefighters could go inside to warm themselves.

No injuries were reported and the fire's cause wasn't immediately determined.
