BENTON HARBOR Ordinance changes in Benton Harbor mean folks could be fined if their alarm systems go off for no reason or if they allow litter to pile up on their property.

Those who have more than two false alarms in a 30 day period could be fined up to $200 for multiple offenses. The Herald Palladium says that fine is lower than the previous ordinance, which allowed up to $500 in fines.

Property owners can also be fined up to $100 if they fail to clean up litter outside.
