Posted: Thu 11:40 PM, Dec 20, 2012

One of the three men, up for the position of South Bend Police Chief, has turned down the Chief's Job in Bismarck, North Dakota. That's according to the Bismarck Tribune.

The Bismarck City Commissioner says Christopher Elg told them a move to Bismarck would not be the best option at this time.

Elg has been the Police Chief in West Monroe, Louisiana since 2004. He has 17 years experience as a police chief or head of public safety.

Other finalists for the job in South Bend include Bruce Marquis, who currently works for The Department of State.

And Ronald Teachman is a 34-year veteran of the New Bedford, Massachusetts Police Department, where he recently served five years as Police Chief.
