The final two meetings on planned vote centers in Elkhart County occurred Thursday evening.

They both happened Thursday at 6 p.m. - one in the council chambers at Elkhart City Hal and the other at the Elkhart County administrative offices in Goshen.

The 24 vote centers will replace the county's 117 precincts.

Voters will be able to cast their ballots at any location, using electronic poll books and touch screens. They could also help the county conduct elections more efficiently and cost-effective.

The meetings were designed to show how the new machines will work, and give the public a chance to comment.
