Kids at the Northside Child Development Center are working to fight against bullying over the next week.
The children are taking part in an event called the Great Kindness Challenge which is a powerful anti-bullying tool in collaboration with kids for peace.
The kids each receive a check list with 50 different challenges for them to accomplish over the next week.
Seventy percent of young people have admitted to seeing bullying, and Northside believes the earlier they teach kids to be kind the better off they will be.
“If we can continue to encourage that teach that and support that then those behaviors will stay with them not only here in preschool and kindergarten but stay with them through life, and that is what we're about,” said Principal Zechariah Hoyt.
Not only the young kids are taking part in the event. Students in high school are also participating in the program.
