According to our reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth, agents from the Defense Criminal Investigative Service are on the scene of an Elkhart company.
The agents, who are part of the U.S. Department of Defense, are working with local authorities at ThermoDyne, which is located at 822 Middlebury St.
It is not yet known why the agents are at the company, but one agent confirmed it was not related to immigration.
According to the company website, ThermoDyne makes microporous insulations that can withstand extreme temperatures. The product is used in the aerospace, automotive, industrial, marine, nuclear and power generation, fuel cells, and commercial markets.
ThermoDyne in 2009 announced a Homeland Security contract to supply Mail Defender with equipment that kills pathogens used in bioterrorism attacks such as Anthrax.
We have a reporter on the way to the scene.
