A new report finds working on the farm isn't as dangerous as it once was.

16 people died in farm-related accidents in 2011, down from 23 in 2010. That's from a Purdue University study.

Farmwork accounted for 13 percent of workplace injuries in Indiana in 2011. That's a very high number, given that only 1 percent of the Hoosier state's workforce is employed in agriculture production.

Researches say equipment upgrades are responsible, in part, for the decrease in injuries and fatalities.
