Warsaw farm donates thousands of eggs to food bank

WARSAW, Ind. The Food Bank of Northern Indiana is getting a huge donation, of one of the hardest food items for them to keep on hand.

On Wednesday, Creighton Brothers Family Farm presented them with more than 7,000 eggs.

The farm is a member of the United Egg Producers, which made a commitment to donating eggs nationwide.

Protein is one of the hardest nutrients for the food bank to provide, since its sources are often perishable.

“Eggs are such a good well rounded product that I feel like being able to give to the food back on a regular basis, especially for the holidays,” explained Mindy Truext, vice president of Creighton Brothers. “It’s just is an extra special part of this relationship for us.”
