Excitement continues to build for residents as the Downtown South Bend Winter Restaurant Week is right around the corner.
One restaurant owner said it is a great way for people to enjoy restaurants they may not go to because of the cost. He also said it is great for the city because this event is bringing people from other areas to Downtown South Bend.
The only possible problem he is foreseeing as a restaurant owner would be on February 3 with the Super Bowl.
“The Super Bowl has such a TV audience that it may be tough to get people out,” says Mark McDonnell the LaSalle Grill Manager. “Maybe they will come early. Well the Super Bowl is a 6:30 or so, so I do not know.”
Restaurant week runs from January 21 to February 3. A few tips if you want to try to bypass the wait. Mark said most people wait a couple days after the week begins to come in, the second week is always the busiest and make reservations.
