NOBLESVILLE, Ind. Indiana State Excise Police officers arrested 19 people on 27 charges at Thursday night’s Wiz Khalifa concert at Klipsch Music Center in Noblesville.

Excise officers arrested 17 people on drug charges, including dealing marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

Derric V. Patton, 27, of Indianapolis, was arrested on preliminary charges of dealing marijuana and possession of marijuana after officers saw him standing next to a Lexus smoking marijuana.

Darren D. Stephens, Jr., 30, of Indianapolis, who was sitting in the vehicle’s driver seat, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of a controlled substance (Schedule I), possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

Nine people were also arrested for illegal possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages.

Indiana State Excise Police officers will continue to work closely with Klipsch Music Center safety officials to promote public safety at Klipsch concerts.

As the enforcement division of the Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission, the primary mission of the Indiana State Excise Police is to promote public safety by enforcing Indiana’s Alcoholic Beverage Code. While excise officers have the authority to enforce any state law, they focus primarily on alcohol, tobacco and related laws.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless, proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
