SOUTH BEND, Ind.--- What a day for Notre Dame QB Everett Golson with five touchdowns; 3 rushing and 2 passing.

Golson becomes the first Irish QB with three rushing touchdowns since Jarious Jackson in 1998.

With that type of performance always comes the accolades from both teammates and coaches.

Notre Dame Coach Brian Kelly told the media after the game that Golson was “electric.”

“Story of Golson was electric,” said Kelly. “He kept his eyes downfield. Knew when to run, knew when to throw it, and those are things we really talked about. We didn't want to over-coach him in that we were going to allow him today to get outside the pocket and be a football player, and just naturally go play the game. And I thought he did that today extraordinarily well. He came back today and I think really showed the kind of player that he can be.”

Golson said he was feeling really confident out on the field Saturday afternoon, and that really helped the team play with more energy.

“We showed our character, what we want to be on offense and how our offense is going to be electric and I think we were electric today,” said Golson. “But there's still some stuff we have to clean up.”

Finally, Golson’s own teammate, Irish Captain/Center Nick Martin, compared Golson’s game to that of a video game character.

“It was like watching a video game you know,” said Martin. “Being on the line you don't see everything he does but you know when you are pass blocking and guys are going left and right you know Everett's doing something crazy when the ball soars down field and you see that touchdown, it's something special."

All of this adds up to some pretty happy Notre Dame fans after a big win .
