Enrollment numbers are in for Knox Community Schools, and for the first time in a while, they're seeing a decline.

That's according to our reporting partners at WKVI Radio.

Superintendent A.J. Gappa explained the statistics to the School Board Monday night. The official average daily membership, or ADM count, at Knox Community Schools showed a drop from 1,924 students to 1,882.5 students.

That's a loss of 41.5 students, across three different grade levels. Gappa says he hopes this is just a one-year dip, and they're currently working on tracking down the movement of the students who left the district.

But there is some positive news. They have 13 more kindergarteners this year than last.
