A proposal to repeal the controversial Emergency Financial Manager Law in Michigan was officially placed on the November ballot Wednesday.
As a result, the EFM in Benton Harbor and three other Michigan cities are still in charge, but with reduced authority.
The Michigan Board of State Canvassers certified the referendum Wednesday on orders from the State Supreme Court.
By certifying the referendum, the 2011 law, which gave EFM's broad powers, is suspended.
