ELKHART, Ind.--- The City of Elkhart is kicking off the Memorial Day weekend by reminding residents about a structure dedicated to the military.

Most people call the downtown bridge "The Main Street Bridge,” but its official name is really the "Main Street Memorial Bridge."

It was built in 1927 and named in memory of those who died in World War I.

A ceremony at 11 a.m. this morning rededicated that bridge in their honor.

The City of Elkhart encourages folks to thank their veterans and to enjoy this upcoming Memorial Day weekend.
