Elkhart recognized as top city in wage growth

Recently Elkhart County was recognized for a growth in production and a record high number in shipments.

Now studies show wages in Elkhart County are going up.

According to a list posted on USA Today Elkhart ranks number eight in wage growth.

In one year the average weekly wage rose from 65 dollars to 782.

Kyle Hannon from the Elkhart Chamber of Commerce says, “We heard recently that we were a leader in job growth and now to see that we are also leading in income growth, that's really encouraging too.”

In the USA Today article it was cited that Elkhart has made a remarkable recovery after the recession. In fact that growth is expected to continue this year as more and more RV plants continue to hire.
