The fight against blight just got a big boost in Elkhart County.

Our reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth say the county is getting $2.7 million from the state to knock down the eyesores.

Most of the money will likely be spent in Elkhart, where many homes fell into disrepair after being foreclosed on.

The money to help demolish the buildings comes from the "hardest hit fund," which also helps homeowners who are facing foreclosure.
