ELKHART, Ind.--- And an update to a story we've been following for two years.

Columbian native and current Elkhart resident, Armando Paez, and his wife, Marta, face deportation after a ten year battle to stay in the United States.

According to our reporting partners at the Elkhart Truth, the Paezes met with immigration and customs officials in Chicago just last week.

Friday marked the expiration of their latest "stay" of deportation.

However, no decision was made about whether they will have to return to Colombia.

NewsCenter 16 spoke with the family in 2012 when they were granted their first respite.

The family immigrated in 1999, and is currently overstaying their visas.

The three Paez children are allowed to stay in the country under federal immigration laws protecting the children of undocumented immigrants.

Until ICE makes a decision, the family will continue to be in limbo.
