ELKHART Elkhart's mayor has issued an ultimatum to residents of a subdivision just outside city limits.

If they don't sign a new sewer compact fee agreement before November 20th, Mayor Dick Moore says he'll disconnect their services.

According to The Elkhart Truth, there are fewer than 20 residents left to sign the agreement, which changes how customers outside of city limits pay for city sewer services.

The mayor threatened to disconnect services once before, but backed off when the Elkhart County sheriff threatened to intervene .
