An Elkhart man now faces a murder charge in connection with the death of 17-year-old Tiana Alter.
Alter was found stabbed to death late Saturday night at a home in Granger.
Michael Shoun, 26, was arrested early Sunday morning at the scene for an unrelated charge. The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department has now added a murder charge to his arrest. Shoun is currently detained at the Elkhart County Correctional facility.
The Elkhart County Coroner has ruled Alter’s death a homicide—saying she died as the result of "multiple sharp force injuries."
Coroner John White says toxicology results will be available in 2 to 3 weeks.
