Elkhart, Ind. An Elkhart woman has learned her punishment for her role in one of several hold-ups earlier this year on the city's north side.
That's according to our reporting partners at the Elkhart Truth.
Abigail Pifer, 20, was sentenced Thursday to six years in prison and six years’ probation after pleading guilty to armed robbery last month.
Police arrested both Pifer and her co-defendant, 24-year-old Nicholas Chaplin, for a robbery at Low Bob's Discount Tobacco store along State Road 19 in late January.
Employees told investigators that two men and a woman got away some cash. Pifer and Chaplin were busted a week after the crime, when officers found evidence of the pair's involvement inside their vehicle during a traffic stop.
This incident is just one of eleven hold-ups that occurred in the area between January 25 and February 28.
Jacob Wing, 18, Timothy Cramer, 23, and Jacob Estep, 23, and Sergio Rocha, 26, are also accused in the string of robberies. Their cases are still pending in circuit court.
