Elkhart Police officers named in deadly Martin's shooting

Elkhart, Ind. The two police officers involved with the tragic shooting at the Martin's in Elkhart Wednesday night have been released.

Corporal Cody Skipper and Corporal Jason Tripp responded to the call of an active shooter in the Martin's Store.

Corp. Skipper has been with the Elkhart Police since 2008 and Corp. Tripp has been with the Elkhart Police since 2009.

Both Corporal Skipper and Corporal Tripp are on paid administrative leave and will remain on leave until the Elkhart County Prosecutors Office has reviewed the incident.

And the Indiana State Police continue to investigate the incident. Over the next several days the police plan to interview dozens of family members, friends and acquaintances of those involved with the incident.

They are currently reviewing autopsy findings and looking at video footage from the store. Also the police are looking into the background of Shawn Bair and looking to see where he got the gun.
