Elkhart Martins supermarket to get painted heart as memorial

A memorial work of art will be placed at an Elkhart Martins; the scene of a deadly shooting earlier this year.

ELKHART, Ind.--- A memorial work of art will be placed at an Elkhart Martins; the scene of a deadly shooting earlier this year.

The Elkhart General Hospital Foundation is donating a painted heart in remembrance of victims Krystle Dikes and Rachelle Godfread.

According to our reporting partners atThe Elkhart Truth, the heart was painted for the hospitals "Have A Heart" Art Fundraiser.

It will be unveiled at the Martins on E. Bristol Street during a public ceremony beginning May 22 at 4 p.m.
