Blake Layman in the middle was sentenced to 55 years for his part in a botched home invasion that turned to murder.
A group of teens that earned the nickname Elkhart Four will be the topic of a national news story this week.
Blake Layman, Jose Quiroz, Anthony Sharp, and Levi Sparks will be featured in Saturday’s episode of Nightline Prime on ABC.
They were convicted under an Indiana law that says co-conspirators in a felony crime are responsible for anything that happens while the crime is being committed.
The teen's friend, Danzele Johnson, died while the group was robbing a home in 2012.
The homeowner fired the gun, not the teens.
However, the felony murder law means they all face prison terms.
Three of the four are appealing their cases.
Their story runs Saturday at 10 p.m. on Nightline.
