Elkhart County Fair sees record crowds with great weather

Thanks to the cooler temperatures the Elkhart County Fair is seeing record crowds this year.

Elkhart county fair leaders estimate more than 212 thousand people have visited the fair so far this year. That's almost as many as last year.

Last year there were a couple hit attractions that drew in large crowds.

This year Tuesday was a hot day but other than that it has been another banner year.

Elkhart County Board President Tim Yoder says, “It’s great for the fair because it means we are doing something that the community continues to want to come out to. 4-H is strong. Enrollment is strong. So there is a lot of showcase for 4-H and the commercial exhibits both inside and outside.”

Saturday is the last day for the fair. Attendance numbers could reach as high as last year's at 280 thousand people if the weather is good.
