ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The first of two Lemonade Day workshop and backpack pickups was held Saturday morning at Concord Mall.
Kids learned how to take their lemonade stands to the next level and really make their own business.
Enrolled students are given tips on how to build a stand, save money, invest and prepare.
“They take this so seriously,” Meggan Fink, Lemonade Day event chair, said. “They get creative, make crazy lemonades, they make their signs, elaborate stands, they get really into it.”
“All we did was pull a crate on my porch, put lemonade on it and called it a stand,” explained Jenna Collins, a participant.
The next registration and workshop day will be April 19, all students must register with a parent's permission to participate in Lemonade Day.
