Visitation hours at the Elkhart County Jail have been cut because of a shortage in staff.
The Elkhart County Corrections Department is down 28 percent in staffing right now.
Now, visitation will only happen Thursday through Sunday from 4-10 pm.
We spoke with Elkhart County Sheriff Brad Rogers on Sunday who warned of these cut backs.
Rogers also tells us the county is having a hard time hiring patrol and corrections officers.
He believes it's because of low wages; some of the lowest in the region.
