The Eastern Pulaski School Board is taking steps to ensure safer schools throughout the district.
According to our reporting partners at WKVI Radio, the group will apply for a special safety grant. The superintendent explains that it’s a $50,000 matching grant and would be used for equipment updates at the buildings.
The grant money will go toward an upgrade to the security camera system, keyless entry system for the elementary school and installing a special box that notifies first responders during emergencies.
The grant application now goes toward the Pulaski County Safety Commission.
