The trend of early voting is growing nationwide, and St. Joseph's County is prepared for absentee ballot registration to start next Tuesday, October 8th.
Technically Monday is the first day for absentee voting in-person at a clerk's office, but most government offices are closed for Columbus Day.
So Tuesday folks can vote on several races from the State House to the White House.
Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson's office says the number of absentee voters grows every year. Lawson says, “I think it's just indicative of the way people lives are today, if you are afraid something might come up on Election Day voting absentee is a sure way to get that done early and get in there and your vote counts.”
Next Tuesday, October 8th is the last day you can register to vote. If you want to do register now, you can do so online! Just head to the WNDU homepage and click on the Big Red Bar for a link to the page.
