A man is in the hospital after being rear-ended by a car as he rode his moped down the street, and police still haven't found the person who did it.

The Elkhart Truth reports that 21-year-old Andrew Smith was riding down Indiana Avenue in Elkhart County, just west of Prairie Street, when he was hit by a gold Oldsmobile Cutlass around 5:30 Monday evening.

Smith was found to have marijuana in his system, and had a blood alcohol content of .21.

There are some witness reports that it was actually Smith who caused the accident. One witness says he lost control of his moped and hit a car that was trying to pass him.

Based on evidence at the scene, police weren't able to verify the exact sequence of events, but nonetheless, they are still searching for the driver of that gold car, who left the scene of an accident.
