The Warsaw Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run drunk driving accident that killed a horse over the weekend.
It happened late Saturday night on Shelden St., north of the Warsaw Walmart.
Police say that Francisco Gonzalez, 24, was traveling north in a white car, when he swerved into the other lane and hit a horse and buggy head-on.
The buggy was carrying five Amish teens. All of them were thrown from the buggy and suffered minor injuries.
Gonzalez fled the scene, but was later found trying to restart his heavily damage Chevy Lumina.
He was transported to the hospital, where his blood alcohol level was 0.17.
Gonzalez was released before he could be taken into custody. He faces several charges.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Warsaw Police Department.
