SOUTH BEND, Ind.--- Two South Bend areas will soon be getting some much needed attention.

A public meeting was held tonight on the revitalization of the Lincolnway West and Western Avenue corridors.

A planning consultant presented a draft on what could happen to bring more life to those areas.

That includes things like bike lanes and businesses that are within walking distance from homes.

The full plan is expected to be released in sixty days, but it is a ten-year vision.

Until then, people can expect minor changes, like striping of the roads.

“By doing that striping this year we think that will let people realize how this space can be improved and how we can make it more comfortable for bicyclists and pedestrians as they look to go shopping,” said Deputy Mayor Mark Neal.

South Bend Mayor Buttigieg has said this is among the three top priorities of his administration.
