Dozens of dangerous weapons are off the streets and in the hands of police, thanks to another successful gun drive, hosted by Michigan City police.

The department has hosted a buyback since 2007, exchanging Walmart gift cards for old or unwanted guns.

This weekend they brought in a total of 69 weapons, including 40 handguns, with one dating back to 1925. They collected 26 long guns, including shot guns and rifles, as well as 3 "starter pistols," which look like handguns but aren't made to be fired.
