Dowagiac man arrested after foot pursuit

Dowagiac, Mich. A Dowagiac man is behind bars after leading police on a foot pursuit Thursday night.

The incident took place around 9:20 p.m. on Sept. 19 when officers tried to arrest a man for an outstanding warrant.

According to our reporting partners at the Niles Daily Star, the man was first seen in the area near Grove and Walnut streets.

Officers approached him, but he took off on foot.

The 46-year-old ran for several blocks before police could catch up to him in the backyard of a home on Chestnut St.

The male was arrested and lodged on the original warrant as well as resisting and obstructing an officer.

The man’s name is withheld pending arraignment in a Cass County court.
