An accident involving a Department of Corrections van in Pualski County caused one person to be airlifted to the hospital.
Police say the driver of the Department of Corrections van, Michael Ritchey, 32, of Rockville was traveling south on State Road 39 at around 4:15 yesterday when he ran a stop sign at the State Road 14 intersection. Crossing through the intersection Ritchey hit a car driven by Brandi Stone, 32, of Medaryville. Stone was flown to the hospital from the scene of the accident with non-life-threatening internal injuries.
Officials say Ritchey had two passengers traveling with him in the van, including a D.O.C prisoner, neither Ritchey nor his passengers were injured in the collision.
