ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - A South Bend teen faces reckless homicide charges for a crash on US 31 last August that left three people dead.
Prosecutors say the teen was headed north on 31, near Baughman Court, when his Dodge Caravan crossed the centerline, colliding with a south bound Toyota RAV4.
The RAV4 was pushed into the path of another truck and struck again.
Three people in the RAV4, Robert and Judith Hillers and Janice Cash, all of South Bend, were killed in the crash.
The 18-year-old driver of the caravan is charged in juvenile court, because he was 17 at the time of the crash.
The St. Joseph County prosecutor's office filed a motion to get the case waived to adult court.
He is scheduled to be in court on July 11.
