A Goshen man was taken to the hospital after crashing his 2005 Honda sedan into a tree around 6:35 p.m. Saturday.

According to Elkhart County crash investigators, the driver, Aaron Hargrove, 32, was headed eastbound on County Road 18, just west of County Road 19, when a deer ran into the roadway.

Hargrove, who was wearing a seat belt, swerved to avoid hitting the animal when he lost control of his car and crashed off the roadway, hitting a tree head on.

Paramedics took Hargrove to Elkhart General Hospital for shoulder, head and leg pain. Not tickets were issued.
